This staff training is a joint intiative between the Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education (SIHO) and the Office of International Policy of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (AUAS)
Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education
The Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education (SIHO) is esthablished by decree and concerns a partnership between the Flemish government and the five Flemish Universities Associations. SIHO support higher education institutions and policy makers in the implementation of equity and inclusion measures.
The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training and SIHO are coordinating several European projects on the topic of inclusive mobility:
- Peer Learning Activities and Resources for Social Inclusion in Mobility Programmes
- Establishing a thought-out Policy Framework on Inclusive Mobility across Europe
SIHO is coordinating the Inclusive Mobility Alliance.
Artevelde University of Applied Sciences is the administrative coordinating institution of SIHO.

Artevelde University of Applied Sciences
The Office of International Policy of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) functions as a innovator, expert, ambassador, inspirator and facilitator in internationalization. It plays a crucial role in providing a learning environment in which the intercultural awareness of students and staff can develop and grow. Crossing visible and invisible boundaries is seen as a logical step in an "academic career" and "professional" life. The International Policy Department is the greatest ambassador within Artevelde University of Applied Sciences for the added value of diversity.
Together with internal and external partners, the office inspires and facilitates initiatives to support diversity. As a result, every student becomes a professional who is not intimidated by their place in the world and can easily connect with the world.
Based on a culture of internationalisation, Artevelde University of Applied Sciences is an active partner in several internation networks and collaborates intensely with international partners for educational and research purposes. Artevelde University of Applied Sciences is seen by external partners as a strong leader and preferred partner for projects and research.
