Sharing research with the world – Open Science

Due to a systemic change from a closed to an open environment of doing research the European Open Science policy was developed. This new European policy affects national policy of the member states. Although often considered equal open science is much broader than open access of research data. In this session participants get an overview of the European Open Science Policy and the implications on research and research institutes. 

Learning outcomes

In this session, the participants will learn about the (European) Open Science Policy and how this affects research at higher education institutions.

About Inge Van Nieuwerburgh 

Inge Van Nieuwerburgh has a  Master degree in Germanic philology and a Supplementary study in library and information science. She works at the Ghent University Library where she is responsible for the support and follow-up of open science, copyright and information & digital literacy. She provides policy advice on open access to publications, the European Open Science Cloud - EOSC, copyright, and other open science and associated legal themes.
